DIY Transom Wheels

Zinc plated iron but 10 in pneumatic wheels with ball bearings. Like wheel barrow wheels.

Plastic and Aluminium for salt water. Uses 8 in plastic wheels and sleeve. Hard foam as tyres. Aluminium angle iron and hollow bars.

I shall use this method. Aluminium does not rust and very light. Shopping cart wheels are very cheap and can take up to 50 kg load. More than enough for an inflatable like Sevlor Hf360. Hf360 weighs 22 kg.

A more detailed instruction and even a demonstration of the function of the wheels.

The best design but not entirely DIY.

A bigger plastic wheel and better sleeve bearing.

Easily removable using spring loaded brackets.

Or no need to put the wheels vertical which may interfere with the outboard motor handle.

I shall use this design but I want the wheel to add stabilising the boat but preventing it from moving up. The modification shown below just hang the wheel.
