Analysing UM student protest against VC

Image may contain: 1 person, hat and outdoor
Picture of student with placard:
WHY VC must resign:
1. Being a Political Puppet
2. Infringing Academic Freedom
3. Promoting racism & hatred
4. Failing to protect student's constituttional rights
5. Failing to solve UM's financial crisis

1. Being a Political Puppet
DAP is now in power. DAP is a chinese dominated party despite claiming to be multi-racial.
They are claiming to be fighting for Malaysians, but promote Mandarin schools and discourage Muslim symbols in their school, such as the objection to artistic Jawi scripts, mistaken for being an Islamic symbol. The implication here is that despite amounting to only 30% of the population and recent migrants to Malaysia, they want Malaysia to adopt Mandarin.

2. Infringing Academic Freedom
This student objected to the VC for attending the Malay Dignity Congress, organised by academics.
It is the student who is against Academic Freedom.

 The VC's speech:
"9. In the light of that, based on a question and the question was raised, Malay Studies Center of Excellence, University of Malaya, together with Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris and Universiti Teknologi Mara, joined forces to investigate the unrest and anger the Malays / Bumiputra."

Academic Freedom does not mean that you should break the law. Telling lies e.g.
Maybe his supportes, the UM lecturers and GERAK can explain further what he meant by restricting Academic Freedom here.

3. Promoting racism & hatred

" 5. Worse yet, after 62 years of enjoying independence, the economy of the Malays still like inferior. Corporate Equity Malay / Bumiputra than 23.4%. Non-Bumiputeras held 34.8% and foreign equity 37.2%. This shows that the goals of the New Economic Policy have not yet been achieved.

6. That's not all. Household income gap also widened, with total revenues Malay Bumiputra 3.5 times lower than the average of the Malaysian Chinese community in 2016.

7. The world of education is increasingly challenging. National education is complemented by race-based education. Malay is no longer so much so that the National Education Philosophy milestone challenged. In fact, lately, the special rights of the Malays, Islam, the monarchy, began to question one by one.

8. Dear Ladies and Gentlemen. Shouldn't that political power be ours. Isn't the result of this country supposed to prosper us? Doesn't that education unite us as Malaysians? Have the rights of the Malays enshrined in the Federal Constitution should have been completed."

What is so racist about that speech?
There are a lot of Malay words indeed, but they are based on facts.
This is what I worry the most. This chinese student and his supporters, UM lecturers and GERAK, consider that the constitution is racist for mentioning Melayu. The VC is considered as racist for mentioning Melayu, or Malay.

This is something new. Saying the word chinese to chinese is also taboo, because it will incite racial violence. I was told about it by my Malay friends the moment I set foot on Malaya(Tanah Melayu), in 1976.

You may think it is a joke and had disappeared, but the Edi Rejang case showed that it was still alife. A Malay guy was questioned by the police, lost his children places in a chinese school and lost his job, just because he called a chinese lady a chinese, because he was angry that the underaged lady was servicing beer at Giant.

So many posters defended her as her right to serve beer at the non-halal section of a supermarket, Giant. To these chinese, Muslims are not allowed to pass through non-halal section. If they do, then, they have no right to complain about anything illegal happening at that place.

Actually there is no such law. Even in pubs, where alcohol can be served legally, Muslims are not forbidden to enter. Just do not drink alcohol. Drinking alcohol is forbiddent o Muslims, at the pub, at public places or at home. Non-Muslims are also forbidden to drink alcohol at public places, especially supermarket.

4. Failing to protect student's constituttional rights
What rights?

The VC was also mentioning about the constituitional rights of Malay. This student must have complained that the constituition was against the rights of chinese students.

This is preposterous but I worry the most his supporters, the UM lecturers and GERAK.
"Have the rights of the Malays enshrined in the Federal Constitution should have been completed."
Wrong translation. Should have been "completely accomplished".

The rights are mentioned as:

"In fact, lately, the special rights of the Malays, Islam, the monarchy, began to question one by one."
Began to be questioned.

If you read his student's sentence, it is not just questioning, but challenging the constitution by saying that his rights is denied with the implementation of the constitutional provision for Malay.

"National education is complemented by race-based education."
The VC did not question, just noted that education is now race-based, mentioning the chinese and tamil secondary schools.

This student must have thought that the VC has not protected his constitutional rights when the VC complained about the neglect about the provision for the Malay rights in the constitution.
This neglect is based on facts:

"5. Worse yet, after 62 years of enjoying independence, the economy of the Malays still like inferior. Corporate Equity Malay / Bumiputra than 23.4%. Non-Bumiputeras held 34.8% and foreign equity 37.2%. This shows that the goals of the New Economic Policy have not yet been achieved."

The excuse by chinese is that the Malays are lazy and corrupt, which is truely racist, instead of just racial.
This is despite the presense of Malay engineers, scientiest, professors, lawyers and billionaires. It is just that they are not enough. They do not reflect the percentage of the Malays by population, that is 60%.

A lot of Malays were duped into thinking that the NEP had been a complete failure.
Even this VC mentioned it.

"6. That's not all. Household income gap also widened, with total revenues Malay Bumiputra 3.5 times lower than the average of the Malaysian Chinese community in 2016."

In my opinion, without the NEP, the gap would have been wider. It is true that there are a lot of waste, but sufficient amount managed to filter through.

One reason for failure is the racist nature of the chinese. This protest is a clear example of it. And he is not alone. He is supported by a lot of UM lecturers and GERAK.

Despite evidences of the chinese true racism, instead of the false racism that the chinese complained about, the Malaysian government approach is the gentle approach. Even denial.

There is not even any anti-discrimination law or even official anti-discrimination investigation. Just dump money into more NEP.

UM VC speech at Malay Dignity Congress

Transkrip Ucapan Naib Canselor Universiti Malaya dalam Kongres Maruah Melayu, 6 Oktober 2019
.....(Kata-kata aluan)....
1. Kongres yang dianjurkan secara bersama oleh empat buah universiti, mempunyai satu matlamat utama.iaitu menyatukan orang Melayu bagi mengangkat semula kegemilangan umat Melayu di negara ini
2. Usman Awang pernah berkata."Melayu itu pengembara lautan, melorongkan jalur sejarah zaman.Begitu luas daerah sempadan. Begitulah hebatnya Melayu. Merentas samudera, meneroka dunia."
3. Tetapi, setelah 62 tahun merdeka, adakah kita masih menjadi bangsa yang diangkat maruahnya, dihormati kehebatannya. Tentu tuan-tuan bertanya-tanya, mengapakah kita berada di sini.
5. Lebih parah lagi, selepas 62 tahun menikmati kemerdekaan, ekonomi orang Melayu masih ibarat melukut di tepi gantang. Ekuiti korporat Melayu/Bumiputra sekadar 23.4%. Manakala bukan Bumiputra memegang 34.8% dan ekuiti asing 37.2%. Ini menunjukkan sasaran Dasar Ekonomi Baru masih belum tercapai.
7. Dunia pendidikan pula semakin mencabar. Pendidikan kebangsaan disaingi oleh pendidikan berasaskan kaum. Bahasa Melayu bukan lagi tonggak sehinggakan Falsafah Pendidikan Kebangsaan tercabar. Malahan, akhir-akhir ini, hak keistimewaan Melayu, agama Islam, institusi raja, mulai dipersoalkan satu-persatu.

3. But, after 62 years of independence, are we still a nation to be respected, respected by its power. Of course you guys are wondering, why are we here?

4. Attendees and attendees. A year ago, there was a sudden change of state leadership. Thus was born the Malays hope to see a more secure future. Unfortunately, this shift was embroidered with Malay political divisions, eliminating the Malay political dominance.

Have the rights of the Malays enshrined in the Federal Constitution should have been completed.

It shows the Malay Muslims in this country are able to unite for the sake of the unity of the nation and the country's progress. In the context of this country, progress would not have been possible without the involvement of the majority group among the natives.

13. (Acknowledgments and thanks)

14. ... May Allah S.W.T. give us the strength to continue to raise the dignity of the Malays in this country for the sake of upholding the Malay / Bumiputera, Malay Muslim and develop this country with other races.

Malay and Islam are threatened by PH government

https://www.msn.com/en-my/news/national/islam-malays-not-under-threat-says-amanah-of-ties-with-dap/ar-AAJaLJf?li=BBr8Hnu&ocid=wispr

This is an absolute liar. When saying anything that has to do with Melayu is already condemned as RACIST, not just racial, the threat is very real. It is about survival from extinction, death.

Do you know who racists are?
Hitler is a confirmed racist. He exterminated jews because they are inferior race.

Ku Klux Klan, white South Africans that supported Apartheid, Segregation laws in USA, are all racists.

Earlier, my information was incomplete about the VC speech but once I got it, it is certain that what the chinese student was complaining was that the VC mentioned Melayu in his speech. Just imagine, mentioning Melayu is already racist, and the chinese feel threatened enough to incite racial violence.

The view of the chinese students are supported by DAP politicians, UM lecturers, GERAK, association of lecturers, dominated by chinese, no doubt.

As long as these humiliation of history, fact and constitution by so called academics are still allowed, Melayu and Islam are threatened, because to these violent racists, Melayu is Islam, as noted by their objections to learning artistic Jawi.

They are the true racists. Who on earth will be threatened by people calling themselves Melayu and fighting for their rights and trying to improve their situations that were not respected, despite the provisions of the constitution? Only racists.

KUALA LUMPUR: Islam and the Malay community in Malaysia are not under threat, Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub said today, after the Perlis mufti said Amanah appeared “very loyal” to DAP.
Salahuddin, who is also the agriculture minister, said the status of the Malays and Islam under the Pakatan Harapan administration had not been challenged or eroded.
“The idea of Amanah being dwarfed by DAP is a repetitive issue. It’s been discussed again and again in the past, but Amanah does not care about that.
“What is important to us is to use the power we have to uphold the position of the Malays and Islam as stated in the constitution,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby.
Salahuddin was responding to Perlis mufti Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin’s remarks earlier today about Amanah’s relationship with DAP.
Asri said the PAS splinter party “has a knack of following DAP’s stance on various issues while refraining from commenting on issues pertaining to the Muslim community”.
He cited Amanah’s silence on the controversy surrounding the “Belt & Road Initiative for Win Winism” comic book and the arrest of individuals allegedly linked to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).
Describing Asri’s claims as baseless, Salahuddin said Amanah was “very strict” about LTTE and had never compromised with terrorism.
On the comic book, he said that the rule of law should apply if it was found to have crossed the line.
“I want to make it clear that this is recycled and cheap propaganda that is meant to attain support from the Muslim community,” he said of the party’s critics.
“When Amanah was with PAS, they played the same music and said PAS was dwarfed by DAP as well. This music will be played forever.”

My advice to Hong Kong protestors

13:50 Hong Kong shows what chinese people can do. It is a jewel to China.
Hongkong is the greatest city in the world. I agree. Even Tokyo is hard pressed to compete.
Its underground is better than Tokyo and Osaka.

My advice to Hong Kong protestors is to:
1. Learn from Tiananmen square
2. Learn from Falungong
3. Learn from Uighur
4. Get help from Dong Xiaping version of CCP
5. Get the hearts of mind of the civilians first
6. Target the enemies of democracy only, not Hong Kong
7. Run from the police and army
8. Use economic and social boycott of prominent anti-democracy leaders
9. Request the world to sanction anti-democracy leaders in Hong Kong, and China
10. Hide your identities

Whither Integration?

https://pages.malaysiakini.com/integration/

Reasonable article but biased against Muslims.
The reality is that Muslims and bumiputras are still the poorest despite all the accusations of racism
directed at them.

The chinese like to say that they are also poor, but it was an eye-opener for a chinese who went to actually visit some poor malay community.

But it was only supposed to be just one incidence. No poverty statistics to verify the charge or racism.

Despite all the poverty, the Malays still appear nice to the non-Malays, but not true vice versa. No reason was investigated.

As for absentesim among government teachers as not being rampant, it is actually not true. It depends on what you consider as rampant. To some above 50% will only be rampant. Or only proven, and action taken cases, are considered rampant. Not true. Most cases were not reported and even if reported, no action were taken. One case in Sabah alone had been brought to court.  Absent the whole year even.

The problem with uncivilised nation like Malaysia is that, law breakers are not sufficiently punished. Most get away. Most are even proud of them, like double parking, despite there being free parking spaces. Worse, no action taken against them, not even a scolding.

How to solve the problem? Just complain lah. Just do not lie, which is another big problem.

most righteous of you peoples and tribes

"Medina is meant to be a place of peace and goodwill between people of different ethnic backgrounds and schools of Islam. Such a society is commanded by the Quran, which notes: "Oh mankind, we have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you" (49:13)."

This is a quranic verse. The comments are from a non-muslim.
But if you read the sentence, you should note that there is no mention of Islam or followers of prophet Muhammad. just peoples and tribes.

This should be the doctrine of Islam. Many peoples are considered muslim, not just followers of Muhammad. Of course, to follow Muhammad is the safest way, but it is not necessary, so Muslims should never be complacent.

The consensus among muslims is that, non followers of muhammad will find it almost impossible to enter heaven because of the corrupted faith. That verse is meant for the followers of other prophets in the past, but the phrase do not mention this. So I always reserve my final judgement. It is all up to Allah.

Prophet Muhammad stood for humanity in Medina, while IS tries to destroy it

IS and its sympathisers do not follow what the Prophet had laid down for mankind to follow. Their actions in Medina and elsewhere prove that
Here is one of my favourite stories about Prophet Muhammad. It is noted in a hadith that he and several of his companions were sitting down along a street in Medina. Suddenly, a companion spotted a funeral procession approaching the group. In respect of the dead human body, Muhammad stood up as the procession crossed in front of him. At that moment, a companion, who was still sitting down, said to the Prophet, "This is a funeral of a Jew. He is not a Muslim." Upon hearing these words, Muhammad became upset and said to the companion, "Is he not a human soul?" The message here is clear: Prophet Muhammad respected human beings irrespective of their religion. He taught mankind that every human soul is important, whether alive or dead. This is Muhammad’s concept of dignity. He defended humanity.
Unfortunately, the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) militants or their sympathisers do not care about humanity. In fact, they are the antithesis of humanity. In the very city where Prophet Muhammad stood in respect for the Jewish funeral procession, several people claiming to be Muslims blew themselves up at the Prophet’s mosque, one of the two holiest sites in Islam. The suicide attack killed four members of the Saudi Arabian security force. In comparing the two events, we can see that Prophet Muhammad honoured people who have passed away, while IS and their sympathisers are the reasons why funeral processions happen in the first place.
Any person in their right mind understands that there is nothing "Islamic" about blowing yourself up and murdering other people. After all, the Quran is unequivocal: "You shall not kill yourselves" (4:29). Suicide is so far outside the boundaries of "normative" Islam that some people – Muslims and non-Muslims alike - have started to seriously question whether IS and their sympathisers are "anti-Islamic", and not simply "un-Islamic", as they are popularly described. There is a difference between these concepts. "Un-Islamic" means that Muslims are acting in a way that opposes the basic principles of Islam. "Anti-Islam" means that the actions of some Muslims are actually a threat to other Muslims and to the very essence of Islam – mercy, compassion, justice and peace.
We can notice Prophet Muhammad‘s love of humanity in how he instructed his followers to respect the People of the Book, as commanded in the Quran. In the year 622CE, the Prophet produced the Medina Charter, also known as the Constitution of Medina, which contained the rights and responsibilities of the Muslims, Jews and other tribal communities in Medina. As the head of state, Muhammad guaranteed all citizens of the city the rights of freedom of religion and freedom of conscience. The charter declared that Muslims and Jews were equal members of a new political community. Indeed, even polytheists were granted equal rights. Moreover, Muhammad’s constitution did not treat Jews as a monolithic entity; he recognised and respected their ethnic and cultural diversities. All Jews were granted the rights of freedom of movement, freedom of worship and the freedom of assembly.
Some consider the charter to be the first written constitution in the world. Whether or not that is true is besides the point – the document is a 7th century model for religious pluralism and civic rights. Muhammad envisioned a society where people were united not by race or religion, but rather by citizenship rights.
Jews were not the only religious community that Muhammad peacefully reached out to in Medina. In 631CE, he sent letters inviting various communities of the region to his city. One group, the Najran Christians of modern-day Yemen, travelled 450 miles to meet the Prophet and his companions in Medina. The Christian delegation consisted of about 45 scholars and 15 assistants.
After their diplomatic meeting, the Najran Christians needed to pray. They exited Prophet Muhammad’s mosque and headed towards the street, aiming to pray there. Uncomfortable with the idea that his Christian guests had no place to pray, the Prophet told them that they could use his mosque to worship. The Najrans accepted Muhammad’s offer. An important bridge was made that day between Muslims and Christians.
And it is these kind of interfaith bridges that IS and their sympathisers want to destroy.
In-between Muslims and Christians is a space that I like to refer to as "the grey zone". This is a space that challenges the binary of "us" versus "them", of the "Muslim world" versus the "Western world". It is a kind of environment where Muslims and Christians can interact and see eye-to-eye with one another. The grey zone is a setting that fosters dialogue, education, understanding, commitment and engagement with the "Other"; all things that IS and their sympathisers want absolutely no part of.
There exists two radically different visions of the city of Medina. One is Prophet Muhammad’s. He produced a form of government that emphasised egalitarian values. All people could belong to his community, so long as they respected his authority and the rule of law. Citizens of Medina were able to express themselves and give their opinions on how best to run the community. Religious freedom flourished. The Prophet safeguarded human rights and made sure that humanity trumped ethnic or religious divisions.
Now compare that to the recent suicide attack outside Prophet Muhammad’s mosque in Medina. The people who carried out that mission were aiming to kill people who did not agree with their rigid interpretation of Islam. Their goal was to instill fear, suppress freedom and ultimately take life away. That is the antithesis of Islam.
Medina is meant to be a place of peace and goodwill between people of different ethnic backgrounds and schools of Islam. Such a society is commanded by the Quran, which notes: "Oh mankind, we have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you" (49:13).
IS and its sympathisers do not follow what the Prophet had laid down for mankind to follow. Their actions in Medina and elsewhere prove that.

We need gangsters as leaders to lead a nation full of gangsters

I just discovered lies about Maza's statement.
An article wrote that Maza like Salam hussin. Complete lie.
But he made an interesting observation which I missed. Sadam Hussin is a gangster. That is for sure. But only he was able to stabilise Iraq. Iraq was more peaceful. So he said, we need gangsters to manage gangsters.
Malaysia now is full of gangsters. Threatening violence with the least provocation, even when told the truth. Even willing to lie also. The only way to control these gangsters is to have a gangster as the leader of Malaysia.
That is why Mahathir had been more successful in making Malaysia more stable. I withdraw support from Anwar. He lied about Malays not wanting to learn English. He humiliated Zakir by lying about his statements. Even the jawi issue he lied about jawi not being in textbooks even before this controversy. He accepted the demands of Chinese gangsters such as dong Jong a few decades ago, and even now accepted the lies that jawi is to promote Islam.
Anwar claimed to promote justice among races and religion but he is so weak that he became puppets of gangsters who spread lies and issue threats. Justice is only upheld if truth is defended in full, without fear. Without true justice, there will be no peace.
Now how did the Mongols became Muslims? They were portrayed as blood thirstily murderers but they only apply justice. An eye for an eye. Their ambassadors were murdered by the Muslim rulers, and other Muslim rulers also supported these murders, so can only be considered as murderers themselves. As Muslims, they should realise that the only punishment for them is to be killed as well, and all civilians who supported them are equally guilty. Worse, in Islam, there is no forgiveness if done deliberately, here and hereafter. The Mongols even gave warnings a few time at great loss of lives.
Mongols just apply Justice to these Muslims who do not even obey the commandments of their religion. When the Mongols found out that Islam supported their actions, and sense of justice, no wonder they were attracted to it.

Islam is the fastest growing religion because it is willing to fight

"Islam is the fastest growing religion because it is willing to fight"

A very interesting theory from the book:

Small Wars: Low-Intensity Threats and the American Response since Vietnam
