I passed my diving license
When taking the course and reading the instructions I was actually scared. When I actually did it, it was clear that it is not as dangerous as it should be. But you must RELAX and inform of any problem immediately before it is too late. According to the dive instructors, nobody had died in Sabah diving.
If they stricly follow these safety standards, I am pretty sure it will continue this way. I am actually 53 years old but I am a reasonably good swimmer who is not afraid of the water. I had some problems with my right ear. The recommended doctor, at Sabah Clinic, noted that my right ear is somewhat blocked but was not in any way dangerous to diving. It may not be dangerous, but it made equalising for the higher pressure, difficult. The lesson is that, we must clean our ears. Sabah clinic can clear our ears for RM35 per ear.

Malaysian Chinese are so stupid
I don't know where this is coming from but it certainly sounds like a chinese poster. An honest comment and a very clearly factual one. One incident not mentioned here is the scaring tactics used by BN on the chinese. The chinese were bombarded with the May 13 violent incident, implying that there will be riots when BN loses. Not only the chinese so stupid, they are also coward.
Here is an edited version of "Chinese Malaysians must read! MCA, I want to vote for PAS!"
As a Chinese Malaysian, there is no Rocket or Keadilan contesting in my
constituency, only a direct clash between UMNO and PAS. Now, I'm
officially announcing it here - in the next GE, I will vote for PAS!
Looking at the MCA leaders attacking Islamic hudud laws during their
annual general assembly on the pretext that they are protecting
Malaysian multi-culturalism, I wish to say, MCA, go to hell!
As
a Chinese in Malaysia, now I wish to tell MCA, in the next general
election, I will vote for PAS! I don't want to entertain you anymore!
Don't tell me that by forming an Islamic country, hands and feet will
be chopped off. Malaysia under your rule and Umno - even Teoh Beng Hock
can fall from a building! Cops can shoot as they please! Not to mention
the ones that died in custody! Before our hands and feet are chopped off
by PAS, we might die abused by you - the authorities!
MCA, a pathetic party, tarnishing PAS in the papers everyday.
Do you know, PAS allocates land to 'support' Chinese secondary schools in Kelantan.
In Perak, the same thing happened when a PAS leader was the Menteri
Besar. @#@ MCA, you've been the government for many years, but failed to
institutionalize allocations for Chinese schools, and now you're
telling us not to vote for PAS, crazy!
@#@, MCA you are a huge
party but in your general assembly, the time was used to attack Islamic
idealism, but at the same time you quietly bow to Umno's narrow racist
mind, what kind of a pathetic party is this? A pathetic party that
cannot be saved!
When Umno attacked, saying Chinese are
"immigrants", telling us to go back to Tongsan, it was PAS who came
forward to defend us!
When Umno prohibits non-Muslims from using the word Allah, it was PAS who came forward to defend non-Muslims' rights!
When Umno prohibits non-Muslims from entering mosques and suraus, it was PAS who came forward to oppose Umno!
When the pro-Umno Perkasa attacked Pakatan Rakyat for betraying the Malays, it was PAS who came forward to stop them!
@#@, what are you doing, MCA? Only capable of saying Umno should not be like this, like that.
If you are really great, why is is that the Chinese are still second class citizens?
If you really do have a backbone, the get out of Barisan Nasional, stupid!
My anger is raging. For so long you've taken money, one PKFZ project
you took RM12.5 billion, one Facebook you took RM1.8 million, and the
other ones? You took the people's money!
PAS? Have you heard of PAS taking bribes?
PAS is known for its honesty, 20 years of ruling Kelantan, not one
corruption case, the Menteri Besar is still living in a 'kampung' house,
eats nasi lemak! You guys simply say if you win you'll eat lobster, and
you still want us to vote for you?"
MCA, get lost! When the
Prime Minister announced he will abolish ISA because of pressure from
the people, like a dog, you immediately agreed! @#@, for so long you've
been supporting that draconian act, and now you've changed in a blink of
an eye? You think the people are stupid?
For so long, PAS led
the people to fight, either in the anti-ISA rally, Bersih 1.0 or Bersih
2.0, PAS is always in the front-line to fight against tyranny - facing
tear gas, and water canons!
On 9 July, Umno attacked us for rallying on the streets.
At a critical moment, Unit Amal PAS made way, and said "Let the Chinese out first, we protect them!" @#@, where were you MCA?
Where did you hide at the time?
Now you're telling us not to vote for PAS, to hell with you!
@#@, for so long you've been ruling us, that porn video president is
still on the stage urging the government to do this and that.
Have you ever thought of yourselves as the government?
If you yourselves can't do it, then switch! Stupid!
The best thing is, Liow Tiong Lai, challenged DAP to get out of Pakatan Rakyat.
When Islamic law was passed in Kelantan and Terengganu, Umno state assemblymen supported by raising both of their hands.
Not one vote was given by DAP.
Why don't you lead MCA to get out of Barisan Nasional?
PAS wants to implement hudud Laws, this is the party's ultimate goal.
It is like the Progressive Democratic Party in Taiwan who fought for
independence, which surely won't happen, because it is not allowed in
the political reality.
Furthermore, PAS is cooperating with the
other two party components in Pakatan Rakyat, who will surely govern
based on the Orange Book - not just the ultimate goal of PAS or DAP.
Maybe some will ask, what about Kelantan?
I would like to ask them, even if it is implemented in Kelantan, what's the fuss?
If you're not a Muslim, what has it got anything to do with you?
Furthermore, you should wait until PAS wins two-thirds majority to amend the constitution.
For now, the government has yet to be even changed.
Now with the amount of phantom voters, it would difficult for Pakatan Rakyat to win one third of the seats!
Still a lot of Chinese are saying, we'll die if the Pakatan Rakyat gets two-thirds majority.
I say @#@, my foot, if Pakatan Rakyat wins two-third, DAP will surely have 50 seats.
If DAP would not vote for it, there would be no amendments.
And then, more Chinese are asking, what if DAP become cowards and support the implementation of hudud laws?
If you don't like it, then switch back to Barisan Nasional!
Is it that there can't be no more elections after the change of government in the next GE?
Aren't elections about giving us the opportunity to change the government if we don't agree with its policies?
Some Chinese are just stupid, I'm saying it openly here.
If in the next election, we support a government that have been corrupt
for so long, just because we are afraid of hudud laws that are not even
there, then the Chinese are a real disgrace.
The fate of the Chinese community will be destroyed by their own hands!
Wake up, and don't be fooled by MCA!
Only when we vote for Rocket, Keadilan and Moon and unite to change
this pathetic government can we fix the conditions of the Chinese
community in the country.
If you love your race, if you love your people, if you love your country, share this writing with all your friends.
In the next election, we sing together the song "Moon is the shape of my heart" (a famous Chinese song)!

Meetings make you stupid

This title does not tally with the writing. It won't just make you sound stupid, but actually stupid.
Group Meetings Make You Sound Stupid
New research shows that small-group dynamics can alter expression of IQ in some people, dramatically dropping problem-solving ability.

“You may joke about how committee meetings make you feel brain dead, but our findings suggest that they may make you act brain dead as well," says lead researcher Read Montague, director of the Human Neuroimaging Laboratory and Computational Psychiatry Unit at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute.
It’s all about reaction to subtle social cues, according to the study, which is published in the journal Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B.
Researchers measured participants’ performances on cognitive tasks to establish baseline IQ, broke the participants into groups of five, and ranked how well they fared in comparison to one another. Then they revealed the results to the group to create an unspoken status ranking. The participants were then tested again to show how their implied social status affected their expressed IQ. For some, the point drop was significant.
Perception of social ranking in the room (in other words, worrying if you’re as smart, capable, or cool as the others in a group) can impair even the smartest person’s problem-solving ability, hinting that measuring IQ may require more than a single, isolated test.
While male and female participants tested with similar baseline IQs, significantly more women fell into the low-performance group, indicating they may be more susceptible to social feedback than men.
Have you ever felt brain-dead in a meeting? Share this theory with coworkers and test it out on yourself.

As easy to do Carbon fibre as Fibre Glass
I am convinced that it is just as easy to fabricate carbon fibre parts
as it is to fabricate fibre glass parts.
Our local industries are already reasonably good at making fibre glass
parts for custom water tanks, boats etc. Unfortunately these fibre
glass manufacturers do not seem to grow. They are beaten by the
factory produced plastic water tanks.
For boat making, fibre glass is still required. So are making car
modification parts. Unfortunately, I notice that I cannot find any
manufacturer who can manufacture using carbon fibre. The filipinoes
are already good at carbon fibre, as shown by the carbon fibre Shell
eco-marathon cars that their students. UMS had to make do with paper
car.
When I enquire from these manufacturers, they claim that it is too
difficult. They don't seem to have any idea at all. They were taught
only fibre glass techniques and their suppliers only supply fibre
glass materials.
It is also partly due to their customers who demand only fibre glass.
For example, fibre class boats. Anyone requesting carbon fibre boats?
Nobody because it is too costly.
It is not a major loss actually. From what I had read about
comparisons between carbon fibre and fibre glass. Carbon may be up to
30% stronger and rigid but it costs too much. But with that we can
make carbon fibre parts that are 30% lighter for the same strength.

Let us hope no more suicide inside MACC office
I doubt that this will not happen. As long as MACC start interrogating, there will be suicide. The best thing to do is not to submit one self voluntarily or involuntarily. Datuk Peter Anthony and that director from UMS, should not allow themselves to be interrogated at all, no matter. If MACC has enough evidence, they can still prosecute. You can visit UMS at any time. You can even check all documents issued by UMS.
If someone who is going to get married killed himself as well as someone who is going for Haj after paying all expenses and attending Haj courses, also killed himself, don't ever bet that anyone with less things to look forward to will not kill himself also, once they are interrogated by the MACC.
I am against any form of corruption but not to the extent of killing ALL SUSPECTS!! Actually what happened was worse. MACC caused people to be killed, even when they were witnesses.

I have nothing to hide – Datuk
Datuk Peter Anthony, the managing director of Asli Jati Sdn Bhd, denied a newspaper report that he was on the run, saying he was in fact giving his full cooperation to the investigators from MACC.
“I am a Datuk, I am 41 years old and the MACC had come to my office according to the news report that said that I was on the run. I am not on the run as reported,” he said.
“I was in Kuala Lumpur when they (MACC) came to my office (in Kota Kinabalu). My staff informed me and I asked them to give them whatever they needed,” he told a press conference here yesterday.
His company was reportedly under investigation over alleged false claims involving a RM43 million contract for mechanical and electrical maintenance work at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).
Anthony disclosed that upon his return, he met with the MACC officers who came to his office on Thursday and Friday, and gave them his full cooperation.
He said MACC wanted a technical report on their contract from 2007-2010 which they were in the process of assisting.
“I have nothing to hide as I want to clear my name and that of my company,” he said in reference to a news report on Thursday which stated that a department director at UMS was also investigated.
Describing the allegations as just rumours, Anthony said it was meant to smear his image as one of the leaders in KDM Malaysia, an NGO entity that strongly supports the Barisan Nasional (BN).
He also clarified that he was just an ordinary member of Umno and not an Umno division deputy chief.
“I do not hold any position in Umno,” he said, adding that his position as the vice president of KDM Malaysia is not in any way connected to Umno.
Anthony said his company had been sincere with all the works carried out in the university, stressing that everything was according to the law and procedures set by the UMS.
“The contract between the company and UMS is a contract that has been agreed upon by both entities. In fact, before the contract was formalised, the university had the rights to scrutinise any mistake or problems in the contract before it was handed over to the company to be sealed,” he said.
Anthony said that from the allegations, it was about changing the bill of quantity and not the price being jacked up or contract worth that had been set by the government.
“We adhere to the project worth set by the Government and (it) has not been changed. Because the contract is a lump-sum basis, the amount should not be more than what has been decided by the Ministry of Finance. Besides, in the contract, there is arbitration that each contract between UMS and Asli Jati is a valid contract,” he said.
Anthony said that any deficiency or excess would be valued at the end of the contract in July, and if there is any extra, the university or the company would return it.
“So, there is no such thing as we have misappropriated government’s money.
“This is not the first time such allegation was made. It had happened three times before. To me the allegations are only rumours. If my company has committed wrongdoing, I would be fully responsible for it,” he said.
Meanwhile, UMS vice-chancellor Datuk Kamaruzaman Ampon has dismissed as false the news reports that MACC officers raided the UMS campus.
He had instructed the UMS internal audit division to seek MACC’s services to conduct the probe after suspecting abuse of authority and corruption in the administrative management, he said in a statement.
After several series of auditing and investigation, the university’s Internal Audit Division discovered a few suspicious administration management which involved abuse of power and corruption.
In line with the government’s effort to curb corruption, the UMS Vice Chancellor Professor Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Kamaruzaman Ampon has directed for the case to be reported to MACC for further investigation.
“The media report stating that UMS was ambushed by MACC officers was untrue as the case was referred to the department for investigation,” he said, adding that it was part of UMS’ effort to empower its integrity to combat power abuse and corruption.
MACC yesterday confirmed that an investigation is being conducted into allegations of false claims.
Sabah MACC director Jalil Jaafar said the investigation is being handled by the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya.
“Sabah MACC has nothing to do with the probe,” he said.
